FAQ about regular savings plan

1. What's the buying price on the execution date?

After the market opening on that day, the buy order(s) will be executed at the market price according to the specific situation. Futu Securities reserves the right to choose the actual time to buy, and does not guarantee a best price.


2. Why is there no buying even if I have sufficient investment amount?

The reasons are as follows:

● The investment amount after deducting fees is insufficient to buy even one share;

● The total number of shares in the buy order(s) is small due to bad liquidity or extreme weather;

● The specific number of shares in a buy order is subject to Futu's risk control rules and the market conditions on the execution day. There may be no buying if the total number of shares in the buy order(s) is small.


3. Do I need to pay fees if the investment fails?

If the investment fails, you don't need to pay any fee. The frozen funds will be returned to your securities account the same day after settlement is completed.


4. What should I pay attention to when paying with my bank account?

● Please make sure there are sufficient funds in your bank account on the execution date, or the bank may impose a fine for an unsuccessful deduction.

● Please pay attention to the risk status of your securities account. If it is in the 「Margin Call」 status, funds will not be deducted on the execution date.

● If you have plans with different investment amounts, we will deduct them in descending order on the execution date.

● In order to avoid further impact, once deduction fails due to insufficient funds in your bank account, your plan will be terminated automatically. If necessary, you can create a new plan and ensure that you have sufficient funds in your bank account on the execution date.


5. What should I pay attention to when paying with my securities account?

● Please make sure there are sufficient funds in your securities account on the execution date, or margin will be used and margin interest may be charged.

● If you have plans with different investment amounts, we will deduct them in descending order on the execution date. In the event of an unsuccessful deduction, we will continue to execute subsequent deductions as planned.

● If investment fails for 3 consecutive times due to insufficient buying power in your securities account, your plan will be terminated automatically. If necessary, you can create a new plan and ensure that you have sufficient buying power in your securities account on the execution date.


6. How to sell my positions generated by my regular savings plan?

Like the way you usually trade, you can sell your positions by selecting an order type on the Trade page and entering order information.


7. What will happen to my regular savings plan if the stock is suspended from trading?

The investment will fail on the execution date, and you will not be charged any fee, and the investment amount will be returned to your securities account.


8. What if I can't find the stock I want to invest in?

We support investing in only certain Hong Kong stocks. For details, please go to Regular Savings Plan > Ranking > View All. If you didn’t find the stock you want to invest in, you can contact us. We will include it after a comprehensive evaluation.


9. Can I cancel/modify my investment plan on the execution date?

You can suspend, terminate, or modify your investment plan before 08:30 A.M. on the execution date, after which time it will be executed, and you will be able to suspend, terminate, or modify only the investment plan for the next execution date. Therefore, if you need to cancel/modify your investment plan for a certain execution date, it is recommended that you do it on the previous day.
